Bryan brothers advance on Sunday
Fourth seeds Jamie Murray and Bruno Soares sailed into the quarter-finals on Sunday at the Miami Open presented by Itau, recording a dominant 6-0, 6-3 win over Paolo Lorenzi and Joao Sousa.
Murray/Soares have dropped just 10 games in their first two matches this tournament. Next up for them are either sixth seeds Lukasz Kubot and Marcelo Melo or Jean-Julien Rojer and Horia Tecau.

Bob Bryan and Mike Bryan moved closer to their fifth title in Miami with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Australian wildcards Nick Kyrgios and Matt Reid. The third seeds didn’t face a break point en route to claiming victory in 52 minutes. They’ll next play Croatians Marin Cilic and Nikola Mektic, who defeated Americans John Isner and Steve Johnson 7-5, 6-3.
Seventh seeds Ivan Dodig and Marcel Granollers prevailed in a hard-fought second-round tussle over Gilles Muller and Sam Querrey 6-4, 6-7(5), 10-6. Awaiting them in the last eight will be top seeds Henri Kontinen and John Peers or Americans Nicholas Monroe and Jack Sock.
Philipp Petzschner and Alexander Peya also reached the quarter-finals by rallying to defeat Alexander Zverev and Mischa Zverev 4-6, 6-4, 10-8. They’ll play either second seeds and defending champions Pierre-Hugues Herbert and Nicolas Mahut or the new combination of Brian Baker and Daniel Nestor.
