Bedene battles back to advance in Miami

Britain’s Aljaz Bedene battled back from a set down to reach the second round of the Miami Open.

Bedene, 26, who failed in his bid to be eligible to represent GB in the Davis Cup, beat Spain’s Roberto Carballes Baena 4-6 6-2 6-3.

His reward is a meeting against another Spaniard, 17th seed Roberto Bautista Agut.

Fellow Briton Heather Watson is due in action later against American Sloane Stephens.
