• In the first men’s match on Center Court, Wawrinka resumes his match against #NextGen American teenager Jared Donaldson, who won the opening set 6-2 before the Swiss native led 3-0 in the second set when play was halted due to rain. Wawrinka is making his 10th appearance in Cincinnati and he is seeded No. 2 for the first time. He reached the semi-finals in 2012 and the quarter-finals in 2014-15. Donaldson, who is into the second round for the second straight year, is trying to post his first career Top 10 win (0-1).
In the next match on, two of the biggest servers on the ATP World Tour meet as Raonic takes on 2013 finalist John Isner, who leads the FedEx ATP Head 2 Head meetings 3-0. Five of the seven previous seven sets have been decided in a tie-break with Isner holding a 4-1 edge. Isner leads the ATP World Tour this season with 845 aces while Raonic is No. 4 with 595. Raonic, who reached his first Grand Slam final at Wimbledon last month, comes in with a 39-10 match record on the season (19-4 on hard). The 25-year-old Canadian also has a 20-8 tie-break record this year. Isner is looking for his first Top 10 win of the season (0-3) and trying to reach the 3R in Cincinnati for the third time in the past four years. Isner, who has been the top American in the Emirates ATP Rankings every week since July 29, 2013, has struggled in tie-breaks this year with a 24-24 record.
