Nadal has won an ATP Award in each of the player-voted categories: Newcomer (2003), Most Improved (2005), Comeback (2013) and Sportsmanship (2010, 2018). He was also named Arthur Ashe Humanitarian of the Year in 2011, and this year was awarded the ATP Tour No. 1 trophy for a fifth time (2008, 2010, 2013, 2017, 2019).
Nadal Honoured With ATP Tour No. 1 Trophy
At 33, Nadal is the oldest player to finish as the year-end No. 1 in the history of the ATP Rankings. The Mallorcan captured four trophies this season, including a historic 12th title at Roland Garros and a fourth at the US Open. He won a ninth Internazionali BNL d’Italia crown in Rome and a record-extending 35th ATP Masters 1000 trophy at the Coupe Rogers in Montreal.
Roger Federer, Diego Schwartzman and Dominic Thiem were also nominated for this year’s sportsmanship award.
